CVTelecom was born from the split of CTT-EP, in 1994, originating the separation of the postal and telecommunications businesses, resulting in the public limited company, Cabo Verde Telecom. This was followed, in 1995, by the privatization of CVTelecom with the entry of its strategic partner, Portugal Telecom.
